Javed Akhtar slams reviving old songs with rap

Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar has expressed his views on the trend of reviving old songs in Bollywood. While he appreciates the idea of giving importance to old classics, he believes that adding bizarre stanzas to these songs is disrespectful. He compared it to putting psychedelic lights in Ajanta or disco music in Taj Mahal. Akhtar emphasized the need to respect the cultural heritage of songs and honor the original compositions.
